The new rooftop venue designed for this Cultural Center, originally built as the city jail in 1895, serves the role of not only a performance venue, but also a lounge and bar for the community to come together and appreciate art.  This portion of the roof had to be reconstructed to allow for new structural loading and sits directly above the theater below it.  Taking advantage of views of the city and the bay, the perimeter is enclosed with a glass railing and the access stair is capped with a glass “lantern”.  The program includes a stage, bar, small kitchen, two restrooms, a storage room and seating for approximately 100 patrons. This multi-use space enriches the community and empowers artists by providing an aesthetic venue for socializing and performing.
