The design concept of the new church for St. Ann of Gulf Breeze was to create a contemporary worship space that seats 750 parishioners and emphasizes the “celebration” of the mass. The natural light playing off multiple surfaces and textures envelopes the congregation in a comfortable yet spiritual setting and the structural concept of bracketed wood trusses balancing on brick columns allows for a soaring ceiling arranged over the asymmetric seating arrangement. The $2.1 million project was completed in 2002.
